> Summary: ProviderRetryDecision: Whether a provider failure should move to the next fallback link.

Namespace Tracon · Assembly
Tracon.Abstractions.dll

Whether a provider failure should move to the next fallback link.

```csharp
public enum ProviderRetryDecision
```

## Fields

`DoNotRetry = 2`

Do not switch providers; surface the error.

`Retry = 1`

Try the next fallback link.

`Unknown = 0`

No opinion; the built-in rules decide.

## Remarks

Three-valued rather than [bool](https://learn.microsoft.com/dotnet/csharp/language-reference/builtin-types/bool) on purpose: the built-in
rules are a closed, positive set (an unrecognized failure does not retry
by default — see [IProviderRetryClassifier](/api/tracon.iproviderretryclassifier/)). A
[bool](https://learn.microsoft.com/dotnet/csharp/language-reference/builtin-types/bool) contract would force a consumer's classifier to
take a side on every exception it does not recognize, silently breaking
that guarantee the moment a custom classifier is registered.
