Namespace Tracon · Assembly
Tracon.Abstractions.dll

The shape of the value a [RunScore](/api/tracon.runscore/) carries.

```csharp
[JsonConverter(typeof(JsonStringEnumConverter<RunScoreKind>))]
public enum RunScoreKind
```

## Fields

`Binary = 1`

A binary score: [RunScore.Value](/api/tracon.runscore/#Tracon_RunScore_Value) is 0 (negative) or 1 (positive).

`Categorical = 4`

A categorical score: the value is a short label carried by
[RunScore.TextValue](/api/tracon.runscore/#Tracon_RunScore_TextValue), and [RunScore.Value](/api/tracon.runscore/#Tracon_RunScore_Value) is
[null](https://learn.microsoft.com/dotnet/csharp/language-reference/keywords/null).

`Numeric = 3`

A 0-100 percentage score. Produced by the model-based judge.

`Stars = 2`

A star rating: [RunScore.Value](/api/tracon.runscore/#Tracon_RunScore_Value) is between 1 and 5.

## Remarks

Written as a name in JSON; stored as `smallint` in the database. The
numeric values are **stable** and must not change.

The three shapes line up with the three metric shapes of
`Microsoft.Extensions.AI.Evaluation`: `BooleanMetric` maps to
[RunScoreKind.Binary](/api/tracon.runscorekind/), `NumericMetric` to [RunScoreKind.Stars](/api/tracon.runscorekind/) and
[RunScoreKind.Numeric](/api/tracon.runscorekind/), and `StringMetric` to [RunScoreKind.Categorical](/api/tracon.runscorekind/).
Only the shape is aligned; no metric type is stored.
