TraconChildRunTimeoutException

Namespace Tracon · Assembly Tracon.Abstractions.dll

Thrown when an agent step of a workflow does not answer within the sub-agent wait limit.

public sealed class TraconChildRunTimeoutException : TraconException, ISerializable
Inheritance

TraconException.ErrorType, Exception.GetBaseException(), Exception.ToString(), Exception.GetType(), Exception.TargetSite, Exception.Message, Exception.Data, Exception.InnerException, Exception.HelpLink, Exception.Source, Exception.HResult, Exception.StackTrace, object.GetType(), object.ToString(), object.Equals(object?), object.Equals(object?, object?), object.ReferenceEquals(object?, object?), object.GetHashCode()

The limit is Tracon:AgentGraph:ChildDeadline, with Tracon:AgentGraph:WaitTimeout as the hard cutoff for an agent that ignores its cancellation token. A node that sets its own WorkflowNodeReference.Timeout replaces both for that step: the timeout, and the timeout plus 30 seconds as the hard cutoff. The exception fails the step, so the workflow run ends Failed and no later node runs.

An agent called as a TOOL by another agent hits the same limit without this exception: there the limit comes back as a tool result the calling model can act on. A workflow step has no model reading its output — the next node would take the limit’s text as the step’s content — so a workflow fails instead.

Creates a new error.

public TraconChildRunTimeoutException()

Creates a new error.

public TraconChildRunTimeoutException(string message)

message string

The error message.

TraconChildRunTimeoutException(string, Exception)

Section titled “ TraconChildRunTimeoutException(string, Exception)”

Creates a new error.

public TraconChildRunTimeoutException(string message, Exception innerException)

message string

The error message.

innerException Exception

The underlying error.

The stable value written to TraconException.ErrorType.

public const string ChildRunTimeoutErrorType = "child_run_timeout"

string

Gets the name of the agent that did not answer in time.

public string? AgentName { get; init; }

string?

Gets the stable error type name written to the run record.

public override string ErrorType { get; }

string

Defaults to the full name of the exception type, so today’s behaviour does not change. A derived type overrides this member when the record has to be machine readable — for example TraconContentFilteredException writes content_filtered. Reports and alert rules can rely on this stable name instead of an assembly name.

The value is written to RunError.Type and carries no secret.

Gets the wait limit that elapsed.

public TimeSpan? Timeout { get; init; }
